“Why aren’t you all shackled in a basement and in some concentration camp?”
That’s the question Jimmy Kimmel posed to “South Park” co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Tuesday evening. The late-night host, of course, hinted that the animated series relentlessly mocked President Trump, repeatedly depicting him naked with a small penis.
“We’re hiding behind comics,” Parker chimed in.
Kimmel has been the target of censorship many times, including by President Trump and the FCC, which is allied with him. Kimmel has been the subject of censorship multiple times, from a weeks-long hiatus when a MAGA crowd twisted his joke about the right-wing reaction to Charlie Kirk’s murder and took it off the air, to the Trumps’ recent kerfuffle over their intentional reinterpretation of a joke about Trump falling asleep in a meeting. Both Trump and Melania have publicly called for Kimmel to be fired.
The bemused host seemed particularly interested in how Parker and Stone portrayed Vice President J.D. Vance in South Park, transforming him into a deranged version of the tattooed Fantasy Island character played by the late Hervé Villechaize.
Parker said the tattoo was one of her first impressions “when I was about 9 years old.”
“It was going to be a one-off joke — this joke about Mar-a-Lago being like ‘Fantasy Island’ — and we were like, ‘Oh, we’ll just get him a tattoo and it’ll be a one-shot.’ And we all loved it so much and loved him as a little character,” Parker explained.
“In that season of ‘South Park,’ we did a deepfake of the president,” Parker continued, adding, “We actually deployed a deepfake AI machine to show how we made Donald Trump’s wiener on the show.”
Parker then took out a small piece of his (fake) foreskin, placed it on his finger with a little eye painted on it, and wiggled it towards the camera.
“If he doesn’t burn down the Smithsonian, I hope he ends up in the Smithsonian someday,” Kimmel chimed in.
Kimmel then placed Trump’s foreskin on his little finger.
“Hello, girl,” he said to Foreskin. “Why are you bothering me so much?”
