This week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” kicked off a political cold war that brought Aziz Ansari to the sketch show.
The segment began with Ashley Padilla’s Caroline Leavitt beginning a press conference at the White House.
“You know I’m going on maternity leave. When you ask President Trump about having a baby, he says, ‘I’m going on vacation,'” she quipped.
Leavitt soon handed over the microphone to Pete Hegseth, played this season by Colin Jost.
“I literally wear my religion on my sleeve, so I’m not going to apologize,” he said. “I have a tattoo on my forearm of Jesus being strangled.” He ended his time on the mic by saying, “In a word: War is great.”
He was soon handed the microphone to embattled FBI Director Kash Patel, played by Ansari.
“We conducted a more thorough investigation after President Trump’s assassination attempt. We dotted every T and bulged every eye.”

“I’m a pioneer. I was the first Indian to be bad at my job. Everyone was saying, ‘Indians are smart, hard-working and intelligent,'” Patel said. “We prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that we can be just as incompetent as white people and just as confident.”
