Once a strong public relationship, former Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Meghan Markle’s relationship has deteriorated to the point of “hate” in recent years, a source has claimed.
Sources claim the beginning of the end of their once blossoming friendship began in 2019, when Meghan collaborated with British Vogue magazine’s then-editor Edward Enninful on the magazine’s Force for Change issue.
“Meghan has pledged her allegiance to Mr. Enninful so Anna has given in,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Anna hates her. Meghan doesn’t want to pay and she’ll never give things back.
“And Anna loves the royal family. She’s Dame. Anna would have hated the way they (the Sussexes) handled their exit from The Firm.”
The source went on to claim that Meghan is “caught in a vicious cycle” as bridges between her and her famous friends continue to be burned.
“They’ve really lost the plot. I hear she’s in a terrible downward spiral because she knows nothing is going right.
“The story about her (‘As Ever’) merchandise being sold out is no longer true. I don’t think either of them are happy,” the source added.
Meanwhile, the incident comes after Meghan revealed her love for spending time Down Under following the couple’s recent high-profile visit.
Meghan spoke of her love for the country, exclaiming: “My husband and I have a very strong affinity for Australia.”
“I told him on the day we were to fly out, ‘The only thing better than Australia is the Australians.'”
Elsewhere in her interview with Women’s Weekly, Meghan revealed she was keen to wear Australian designers during her visit.
“Over the past few years, I’ve often heard through affiliate links and the press that the wrong designer was being credited for what I wore, and it never seemed fair,” she says.
“Give credit where credit is due. These brands and designers work very hard and take great pride in their work. I chose them for a reason,” she explained.
“Either to support a friend, be true to the brand, or for the reasons I mentioned earlier. So it’s always been important to me that the right designer is credited.”
When asked which outfit was her favorite to wear, she added, “It’s hard to choose one because each look was put together with a different vibe in mind and I loved each outfit for a different reason. I didn’t always have time to change between locations, so it was fun to get creative.”
