“Wednesday” has become global.
Netflix on Monday released a first look image of season 3 of the series starring Jenna Ortega. A photo posted on social media shows Wednesday standing next to a motorbike under the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The intelligent but disembodied Thing (Victor Dorobantu), a key member of the Addams family, sits on a motorcycle while Wednesday holds a paper in his hand and stares off into the distance with his characteristic expressionless expression. The photo’s caption reads, “From Paris with fear.”
Season 2 of “Wednesday” ended with Wednesday and Thing setting off in the sidecar of their uncle Fester’s (Fred Armisen) motorcycle to search for their werewolf friend and roommate Enid (Emma Meyers), who has escaped into the wilderness after being stuck in wolf form. Netflix has yet to release plot details for season 3, but it seems Enid’s search may be the reason Wednesday ends up in France.
Production on Season 3 of “Wednesday” began in February. The new cast includes Eva Green as Aunt Ophelia, as well as Winona Ryder, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Rance, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer in undisclosed roles. In addition to Ortega, Myers, Armisen and Dorobantu, the series also stars Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Joanna Lumley.
This series is based on characters created by Charles Addams. Alfred Gough and Miles Miller created the series and will serve as showrunners, with Tim Burton serving as director and all three executive producers. The studio is MGM Television.
