Kris Jenner may not only be interested in Jeff Bezos’ personality.
The Kardashian matriarch was famously close to the Amazon boss and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, and celebrated his 70th birthday with a star-studded party at his home, including many guests including Prince Harry, and brought almost all of his daughters to the couple’s wedding in Venice, Italy.
Now, Page Six has learned that Kris and his youngest sister Kylie Jenner are unhappy with the company that bought Kylie Cosmetics and are hoping to get Uncle Jeff to buy out control.
Coty acquired a 51% stake in the Lip Kit company in 2019 for $600 million. But we hear that the mother-daughter duo don’t think the brand has been “treated right” by the beauty giant.
They heard that Bezos pitched the idea of buying Coty.
It might work. Bezos and Sanchez appear to be particularly interested in star-powered ventures, most recently investing in Sidney Sweeney’s lingerie line SYRN. (The 28-year-old was a bit of an out-of-place guest at the Italian wedding, but it seemed to make some sense after the investment news broke).
A New York Times article about Sanchez this week noted that their “philanthropy is also closely tied to their social and celebrity connections,” including Leonardo DiCaprio’s “Re:wild” organization and the awarding of the Bezos Courage and Civility Award to José Andrés, Dolly Parton and Van Jones.
Meanwhile, it looks like the Jenner family has been trying to take back their empire for a while.
In 2023, Forbes reported that Kylie was “unhappy” with Coty and had “informal discussions” about buying back a majority stake. “There was a disagreement over price and valuation,” a source told the business website.
Coty had placed bets on the reality star family many times. They purchased 20% ownership of Kim Kardashian’s beauty brand in 2020 for $200 million. In March 2025, they sold the stake to Kardashian’s SKIMS for a loss of $71.1 million.
In September 2025, Coty said, “The cosmetics maker plans to focus on its more profitable fragrance division and has begun a strategic review of its consumer beauty business that could lead to the sale of brands such as Covergirl and Rimmel,” Reuters reported.
Representatives for Coty, Bezos and Jenners did not comment.
