‘MasterChef’ Australia is set to be sprinkled with royal stardust. Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, will appear as a guest judge on the long-running cooking show.
“MasterChef Australia is famous for producing culinary legends, and today, passionate foodies with global influence have graced the kitchen,” the press release chimes.
She will appear on the show’s 18th season alongside the regular roster of judges, consisting of Po Ling Yeo, Sofia Levine and Jean-Christophe Novelli. The series returns on April 19 on Network 10 and 10 Streaming in Australia. Other guest judges on MasterChef Australia this season include Maggie Beale, Curtis Stone and Rick Stein.
News of Meghan’s cameo comes as part of her current trip to Australia with husband Prince Harry, where she is said to be hosting a meet-and-greet at a “girls’ weekend” retreat in Sydney, with tickets costing up to $3,000, and an appearance at a charity event. This will be Meghan Markle’s first visit to the country since 2018.
Meghan has long described herself as a foodie and published a charity cookbook in 2018. Her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan Markle,” featured her cooking various dishes in the kitchen with friends and mentors. She also released a lifestyle series titled ‘As Ever’. This includes many ready-made cookie and pancake mixes, honey, fruit spreads, and wine. “With Love, Meghan Markle” aired for two seasons, but was not renewed for all episodes due to “lackluster” ratings.
