Braden Peters, best known for his “Looks Max” collarbone persona, quit an interview with 60 Minutes Australia correspondent Adam Hegarty after being asked if he identified with the incel community.
“Do I identify as an incel?” Peters said. “I mean, how could you ask me that question as a follow-up after you asked me about my relationships with women? I mean, that’s literally the worst series of questions I’ve ever heard.”
Hegarty asked, “So let me rephrase that. Looksmaxxing is clearly a term coined by the incel community. How do you feel about being connected to that group?”
“I have nothing to do with that group,” Peters responded. “Looksmaxing is about self-improvement, right? I mean, you might even break out of that category. So one of your goals would be to separate yourself from being an incel and overcome that. So it doesn’t make sense.”
Hegarty then shifted gears into Peters’ relationship with Andrew Tate, the highly controversial Manosphere influencer who is currently facing charges of rape, assault and human trafficking in the UK.
“I understand you want to make this political,” Peters responded. “Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to find out who your wife may have been cheating on with. But please don’t try to ask me that question.”
Ms Hegarty then replied: “I’m not married.” Peters concluded before leaving. “Then I can tell you about Looks Max, and maybe you can change it. Thank you for your time. I appreciated the interview.”
