Popular YouTube creator IShowSpeed is lending his voice and energetic personality to the anime-style series in production at Brian Robbins’ production company, Big Shot Pictures.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but the show will feature IShowSpeed’s animated characters and will be one of his first story-driven projects. Big Shot will be releasing this package soon.

The series will be written by Matt Owens, who served as co-showrunner on the first two seasons of the Netflix hit One Piece, but announced last year that he was stepping away from the show to focus on his mental health. Owens will also serve as a producer on Big Shot alongside Robbins. Additionally, director and actor Harmony Korine will serve as a producer.

IShowSpeed (real name: Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) has over 52 million subscribers on YouTube. The 21-year-old is known for his viral IRL streams and videos spanning sports, gaming, music videos, travel, and more. IShowSpeed won the top award for Streamer of the Year at the 2024 and 2025 Streamer Awards.

“I’ve always loved anime, so being able to create something like this is a dream come true for me,” IShowSpeed said in a statement. “The team behind this project is incredibly talented and we can’t wait for our fans around the world to see what we’re building together.”

Robbins said, “Speed is a unique creative force with the ability to connect with audiences across borders and platforms. As a performer, he has built a truly global fan base, and we are excited to help bring his voice and vision to life in an entirely new way through this series.”

IShowSpeed is represented by CAA. Matt Owens is repped by CAA, Circle Management + Production, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

Mr. Robbins is the former co-CEO of Paramount Global, where he retired in August 2025 following the merger that created Paramount Skydance. As head of Paramount Pictures, he oversaw the studio’s theatrical productions and major family series including Sonic the Hedgehog, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Paw Patrol.

He launched Big Shot Pictures earlier this year. The company has a first-look theatrical distribution agreement with Sony Pictures Entertainment for both animated and hybrid live-action films. In addition, Big Shot has acquired the rights to adapt and expand the children’s book series Eloise at the Plaza, written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hilary Knight, across multiple platforms, including film, television and consumer products.

Big Shot Pictures is backed by investments from Greycroft, Sony Pictures Entertainment, MarcyPen Capital Partners, ValueAct Capital, and CAA.
