SAG-AFTRA has sent “Save the Date” two upcoming awards ceremonies on Netflix.
The Actors of America (formerly known as the SAG Awards) announced that the 33rd annual awards ceremony hosted by the Actors Guild will be streamed live on Netflix on Sunday, February 28, 2027 at 8:00 PM ET. The organization also revealed that its 34th ceremony will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2028.
All four of this year’s leading actors in the Oscar race won Academy Awards: Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), Jesse Buckley (Hamnet), Sean Penn (One Battle After Another) and Amy Madigan (Weapons). “Sinners” won the top ensemble award, and “One Battle After Another” won the Oscar for best picture.
This news was announced after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences scheduled the 99th and 100th Oscar ceremonies for Sunday, March 14, 2027, and Sunday, March 5, 2028.
The Actors Awards, sponsored by SAG-AFTRA, is the only televised awards ceremony dedicated solely to recognizing television and film actors. Nominees and winners are selected by eligible performers from among more than 160,000 SAG-AFTRA members, the largest voting body in the awards field.
The show recognizes outstanding performances across 15 categories, including individual and ensemble work in film, drama, and comedy television series. Known for its simplicity and focus on the performer, the ceremony awards its signature Actor statuette and has remained one of the industry’s most respected honors since its first edition in 1995. The Actor Awards will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix.
Key submission dates and deadlines will be announced in the coming weeks.
