Drew Barrymore has always been down to earth.
During Monday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the host got emotional during a transformation segment.
Barrymore spoke to women who have recently experienced body changes, such as rapid weight loss or multiple pregnancies, to share their own stories about body insecurities.
“I really empathized with you. I really empathized with you,” she said through tears, adding, “I was walking down the street the other day…I’ve had two C-sections, and my area is really messed up, and forever…I won’t be able to wear any kind of pants.”
Barrymore has two daughters, Olive, 13, and Frankie, 11, with ex-husband Will Kopelman.
The actress further said, “I was wearing this short shirt and I couldn’t keep the jacket closed. And I was walking around and I didn’t want anyone to see this.”
During this segment of the show, the 51-year-old spoke to the mother of four, who recently lost 75 pounds and is scared to wear slimming clothes and wants to be “more confident…and not worry about, ‘Do I look stupid?'”
Barrymore said she was inspired by makeover participant Dawn, adding, “I totally get that. And I have to say, I look at you and all I see is your beautiful efforts… I only know that because you told us. I wouldn’t know otherwise… and you’re so amazing.”
“Your body changes, and as you get older, things aren’t the same as they used to be,” she concluded.
Barrymore, who recently underwent a weight loss transformation herself, has publicly dispelled rumors that she went under the knife to achieve that youthful glow.
“I haven’t done anything. I want to keep working hard,” the talk show host said during a question and answer session from the show’s viewers.
“But I also believe in doing whatever works for you,” she added at the time, adding, “The only thing I know is not to judge others just because they do things differently…We’re all on our own paths and we have to support each other.”
