Anna Duggar is in her brother-in-law Joseph Duggar’s corner.
Josh Duggar’s wife sent a friendly email to the 31-year-old on March 21 while he was awaiting extradition from the Washington County Correctional Facility in Arkansas to Florida to face child sexual abuse charges.
“Hello Joseph! Brother, our prayers are heard. We love you. If we can help, please let us know,” the message, obtained by People magazine on Thursday, began.
Anna, 37, went on to write that she had sent him “some money.”
She also gave her husband, a convicted sex offender, advice on how to make the most of his time in prison, as he was in prison from 2021 to 2022.
Specifically, Josh is currently serving a sentence in a Texas federal prison for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.
“Joshua’s experience in Washington County has been fairly safe,” Anna wrote, asking Joseph to contact her “if you have any concerns about (his) health or safety.”
Highlighting the “two-week commissary delay,” she added. “If you’re going to be there for a while, we’d definitely like to send you some goodies.”
Anna warned Joseph not to discuss anything legal unless he is accompanied by a lawyer, explaining that “everything he says in messages, phone calls and video chats will be recorded and handed over to prosecutors.”
She concluded, “I’m praying for you, I love you, Anna.”
The next day, when Joseph contacted Anna for help in contacting his wife, Kendra Duggar, she told him about his solitary confinement.
“You can request a meeting with your pastor. He may give you more books,” she wrote on March 22.
Joseph was arrested on March 18 and charged with lewd and lascivious acts with a victim under 12 years of age and lewd and lascivious acts with a person over 18 years of age.
The alleged incident involving a 9-year-old girl occurred in Florida in 2020.
Two days later, Joseph was charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment. The same goes for Kendra, who has four children with Joseph.
Kendra, who was arrested on March 20 and released the same day, has been in contact with Joseph through a phone obtained by Page Six.
During an emotional conversation, the 27-year-old told Joseph about the lawyer she hired for her (one of Josh’s lawyers) and revealed that her children had been “taken away.”
The pair, who married in 2017, also chatted about Joseph’s prison workouts and “toned” physique in a flirtatious phone call.
Joseph appeared in court in Florida on Tuesday and was released on $600,000 bail.
