“Bob’s Burgers” voice actor Eugene Mirman was hospitalized Tuesday with “serious injuries” after being rescued from a fiery car crash in New Hampshire.
Millman, who provides the voice of Gene Belcher on the FOX animated sitcom, was driving on the FE Everett Turnpike when he crashed his 2026 Lucid Gravity into the Bedford Toll Plaza just before noon, according to a New Hampshire State Police press release. NHPD identified Millman, 51, as the driver.
As the car burst into flames, Millman was pulled out the window and rescued by witnesses, including a state trooper and New Hampshire Gov. Kelly Ayotte, who happened to be driving near the wreckage with a security guard. Millman was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

In a statement shared with X, Ayotte said: “I would like to thank the police officers who provided security and the bystanders who came forward at the scene of the accident for their brave life-saving efforts today. Joe and I wish the driver injured today a full recovery.”
Col. Mark B. Hall also released the following statement: “Indeed, their actions were heroic. Without hesitation, they put themselves at risk to provide aid to those in need.”
Millman’s representative told Variety in a statement: “Eugene was involved in a very horrific car accident. He would like to thank the witnesses, state police, first responders, and hospital staff. We are grateful that he is on the road to recovery. At this time, we ask for privacy as Eugene and his family focus on recovering from their injuries.”
This incident is currently under investigation. No charges have been filed yet.
Millman provides the voice of the only son in the family at the center of the sitcom and has credits on more than 300 episodes of “Bob’s Burgers.” His credits also include “Flight of the Conchords” and “Confess, Fletch.”
