Taylor Swift needed a getaway car on Saturday night.
The pop star narrowly avoided a confrontation with ex John Mayer when he was spotted leaving a Paul McCartney concert at Hollywood’s Fonda Theater over the weekend.
In a photo obtained by Page Six on Monday, the “Bad Blood” singer, 36, was seen chatting with Olivia Rodrigo while wearing a black dress and choker.
She hugged more friends before leaving the venue.
Mr Mayer was photographed leaving through a different exit after the show.
The “Your Body Is a Wonderland” crooner notably performed with Swift from late 2009 to early 2010.
Swift’s October 2010 hit song “Dear John” is widely believed to be about Mayer, but she has not confirmed the rumor.
The lyrics accuse a mysterious man of dating his 19-year-old “too young” girlfriend and playing “dark and twisted games” with her.
Two years later, in a scathing interview with Rolling Stone, Mayer slammed the “humiliating” release as “cheap songwriting” and said the diss track was “terrible” to him.
“I know she’s the greatest in the world, and I’m not trying to sink anyone’s ship, but I think it’s an abuse of talent to rub your hands together and say, ‘Wait until he loads this up!'” he told the magazine in 2012.
Swift fired back in a roundtable discussion with Glamor, claiming Mayer was “presumptuous” because he “never reveals who the song is about.”
She asked the interviewer not to reveal Mayer’s comments, saying, “I don’t want to know because I know it wasn’t good. My priority is to be happy and I know what I can’t stand.”
Mayer’s “Paper Doll” was released in 2013, and fans believed that the lyrics about her partner, “22 girls rolled into one,” were a suspicious reference to Swift’s song “22.”
He “100 percent” denied this on Instagram Live in 2019, claiming that “they brought back some superficial pop culture about the person they were supposed to be singing about. But this song was not about that person.”
However, he admitted that the single was “a little mean” while chatting with the audience during a concert in April 2023.
“I guess people don’t like it because it sounds a little pissed off,” he said at the time. “I think it would have hurt more.”
Since their brief romance, Mayer has been rumored to be linked to singer Katy Perry and, most recently, influencer Kat Stickler.
Swift is engaged to Travis Kelce, and Page Six confirms the pair will be hitting the road in Rhode Island this summer.
