Sophie Turner suffered a “minor injury” while working on the upcoming Lara Croft Tomb Raider reboot, Page Six has confirmed.

Production on the Amazon-MGM Studios series has been temporarily halted as the “Game of Thrones” star recovers.

A spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios said: “We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible.”

Additionally, sources told Page Six that Turner will likely be back on set within two weeks, during which time the crew will be paid and busy with preparatory work.

Sources told the US Sun that the actress had been suffering from a lower back injury, which had worsened during the long hours on set since filming began in January.

“Sophie has given her all to the role, but due to the demanding physical nature of Lara Croft, she has pushed herself too hard,” a source said.

Turner’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six for comment.

Turner said in January that he “learned” about his “perpetual back problem” during months of training last year.

“It’s been tough because I’ve been training eight hours a day, five days a week since my training last February,” she said on “The Julia Cunningham Show,” according to SiriusXM.

The “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” star also explained that “building muscle is much easier if you’ve ever worked out before in your life.”

“That never happened,” she admitted. “So it took months and months and months to get to a good place. That’s what I learned.”

Ms Turner’s injury occurred after she was spotted on set while filming the action series in the UK earlier this month.

In January, Amazon MGM Studios posted the first look at Turner as Croft and shared that production was currently underway on the video game adaptation series Tomb Raider.

The game specifically depicts Croft, a famous archaeologist and adventurer.

Croft has been played by other celebrities, including Angelina Jolie in the 2001 film adaptation of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Alicia Vikander in the 2018 film Tomb Raider.
