Nick Cannon made his policies public on a recent episode of his web talk show “The Big Drive” (via TMZ), in which he referred to the Democratic Party as “the party of the KKK.”
When guest model Amber Rose said that Democrats “don’t care about people of color, Republicans do,” Cannon replied, “I agree 100 percent. People don’t know that the Democratic Party is the party of the KKK. They don’t know that the Republican Party is the party that freed the slaves. So you and I both have conservative views. You just have a little more outspoken opinion than I do.” And to be honest, I don’t agree with either party, but he said, “There are no two parties, it’s just one evil party with two different names.”
When discussing President Donald Trump’s second term, Cannon gushed that he was a “fuckin’ cleaner” and said he was “doing what he said he was going to do.”
“Now we have the Gulf of America,” Cannon added. “He’s like a club. He’s charging a $5 million bottle service fee to get into the country.”
Although various factions of the Democratic Party were involved in the rise of the KKK in the immediate aftermath of the Civil War, it is not widely believed that the party as a whole supported the formation of a white supremacist group. Mr. Cannon was partially correct about the history of the Republican Party. The party was founded by anti-slavery activists in the early ’50s. In 1861, Republican Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing all slaves living in non-Confederate states. However, slavery was not abolished in the United States until 1865, when the House of Representatives passed the 13th Amendment, which was later ratified by a majority of states.
