Anne Hathaway vs. Space Dinosaurs? Consider us intrigued.
Hathaway will co-star with Ewan McGregor in The End of Oak Street, which is scheduled to be released in North American theaters on August 14th. The cast also includes Maisie Stella, Christian Convery, and at least one dinosaur at the end of the first trailer.
According to the official synopsis, “After a mysterious cosmic event tears Oak Street from its suburbs and moves the neighborhood to an unknown location, the Pratt family soon realizes that their survival depends on sticking together as they navigate an environment that has become unrecognizable.”
The trailer keeps things mostly secret, highlighting the family atmosphere and the real fear that something is wrong, with shocking footage of torn suburban streets.
It Follows director David Robert Mitchell wrote and directed Oak Street with Hannah Minghella, John Cohen, Mitchell, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper, with J. J. Abrams serving as producer. Executive producers include Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joan Lee, and LeeAnne Stonebraker.
Michael Jourakis serves as director of photography, along with production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino, and costume designer Erin Benak.
The film has been in a long development period, starting in May 2025, jumping to March 13, 2026, and now rescheduled to August 14. This movie was originally called “Flowervale Street.”
Beyond this film, Hathaway has a very busy release calendar planned for 2026. Among them is A24’s pop star thriller Mother Mary, which will be released in April. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” will be released in May. “Odyssey” in July. and “Verity” in October.
