Jo Koy, Dolly De Leon, Ronnie Chen and Amieline Abelera are set to join the cast of DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming animated film, The Forgotten Island.
They join HER, Liza Soberano, Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Manny Jacinto and Jenny Slate.
Written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, The Forgotten Island follows two friends, Joe (HER) and Raissa (Soberano), stranded in the mysterious world of the forgotten island of Nacali. They come to realize that the only way back home may come at the cost of a lifetime’s worth of memories and emotions. “The Forgotten Island” is centered around Philippine folklore, but its heartbeat is a universal story of lifelong best friends sharing love, memories, and experiences. But what if one day they forget all about you?
The film marks the third collaboration between Crawford and Swift and Mercado’s directorial debut. Mercado co-directed Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and served as Crawford’s head of story on The Croods: A New Age.
Nathan Matthew David, a Filipino-American composer who worked on “Tenet” and “The Mandalorian,” will be in charge of the film’s music.
“Forgotten Island,” which is described as an action-adventure animated comedy, is scheduled to be released on September 26th, and the first trailer is expected to be released next week.
