The Spice Girls have reportedly canceled their long-awaited performance. 30th anniversary reunion ended in failure In time.
Victoria Beckham, Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown, Melanie ‘Mel C’ Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton were rumored to be planning a series of performances to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of their debut single ‘Wannabe’.
But those plans fell apart after “no agreement could be reached,” according to The Sun.
Chisholm, 52, also confirmed during Tuesday’s episode of “The Smallsy Show” that there would be no 30th anniversary reunion.
“July marks 30 years since Wannabe was released, and at the end of the year we’re releasing our first album, Spice. So yeah, it’s a big album,” Sporty Spice said on an Australian radio show. “No, there will be no reunion.”
However, she did not rule out the possibility of the Spice Girls reuniting in some form within the next few years.
“We’re in constant communication. We want to do something,” Melanie C. said. “Nobody knows when that will be, but I still feel very optimistic and hope that we’ll see the Spice Girls together at some point in the future.”
Page Six has contacted representatives for Victoria, Brown, Bunton and Halliwell for comment.
The Spice Girls officially disbanded in 2000, and their last public appearance together was at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
While Brown (Scary Spice), Chisholm, Bunton (Baby Spice) and Halliwell (Ginger Spice) toured in 2019, Victoria (Posh Spice) was conspicuously absent.
Rumors that they were planning a comeback began to circulate after all five members privately sang “Stop” at Victoria’s 50th birthday party in April 2024.
However, David Beckham quickly shot down those rumors.
“Unfortunately, that’s not happening,” the former soccer star, 50, told Variety in June 2024.
“Victoria was very happy to meet the girls. It was a big part of her life for the girls, but of course the girls have their own circumstances,” he added. “They do certain things together at certain times.”
The iconic female pop group, minus Brown, reunited earlier this year for Bunton’s 50th birthday in January.
Victoria shared a sweet snap from the social gathering, which came just days after her son Brooklyn released a scathing statement against the Beckham family on Instagram.
