Hans Zimmer’s “Bleeding Fingers Music” has made its way to London.
The composer collective co-founded by Zimmer, Stephen Koffsky and Russell Emanuel has announced the opening of a new London office, marking a significant new chapter in the company’s international expansion.
Zimmer said in a statement: “From the beginning, Bleeding Fingers has been about creating a collective – a place where composers are mentored, challenged and inspired to take their art forward. Britain has a great musical tradition and some of the world’s most exciting storytellers. By drawing closer to that energy, we can continue to reimagine what screen music can be.”
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Los Angeles, Bleeding Fingers Music is a composer collective. The company’s collaborative model enables large-scale orchestral scoring alongside genre-crossing experimentation, delivering global franchises, premium film, television, documentaries and multimedia experiences.
Based at the prestigious Maida Vale Studios, the London hub further strengthens the company’s deep creative ties to the UK and builds on a decade of collaboration with UK broadcasters, filmmakers and cultural institutions.
Co-founder and Chairman of Bleeding Fingers Music, Mr. Kofsky, said: “The creation of our London location represents a strategic step in Bleeding Fingers’ global growth, strengthening our ability to support major international productions while deepening our partnerships in the UK and across Europe. With our upcoming move to Maida Vale, we are expanding our composer pool, expanding our production capabilities and investing in world-class infrastructure that will position the company for its next chapter.”
Emmanuel began his career as a session musician and worked as an engineer and producer across the London music scene before co-founding music production company Extreme Music in Camden Town in 1997. He is president and CEO of both Extreme Music and Bleeding Fingers Music. “London is where my musical journey began, and the collaborative spirit I discovered here became the foundation for Bleeding Fingers. What began as an experiment in bringing composers together has grown into a community built on common ideas, constant reinvention, and a commitment to artistic integrity. This moment reaffirmed our passion for shaping the sonic identity of the stories we bring to life.”
Expansion into London gives the company new leadership in the UK
Jesse McNamara will become Managing Director of the London office. He will oversee the company’s London operations, lead UK-based creative development and production, and expand partnerships across UK film, television and multimedia.
He said: “Joining Bleeding Fingers at this time of expansion is a unique opportunity to further define Bleeding Fingers’ creative future in the UK. We are focused on building a long-term creative community where composers, filmmakers and producers can collaborate at the highest level.”
Mr McNamara will spearhead the growth of the UK’s composer roster, while deepening relationships with broadcasters, studios and independent producers across the region, making the London base at the heart of Bleeding Fingers’ international strategy. Dario Barnes will also join the London team as Bleeding Fingers’ newest creative director.
As previously announced, Zimmer will be composing the music for the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series. Other London titles include “The Duchess and Me” and “Blue Planet III.”
