Rihanna reportedly “doesn’t understand” why her family was targeted after several shots were fired at her Los Angeles mansion on Sunday.
The “Diamonds” singer is “in turmoil” after a woman believed to be Ivanna Ortiz allegedly shot at his property with an AR-15 rifle while he was home, a source told People on Monday.
Another source added, “Rihanna heard the gunshots and was confused at first about what was happening.” “It’s scary to think that even with a good security team in place, something like this could still happen.”
The source added that the incident was “horrifying” for Rihanna, but “thankfully everyone is safe.”
A source exclusively told Page Six that the singer is taking extra safety precautions and has rescheduled an upcoming photoshoot due to the shooting.
“I don’t understand why someone would target my family,” said the “Work” songstress, who shares her home with her longtime partner A$AP Rocky and their children RZA, 3, Riot, 2, and Rocky, 6 months.
It is unclear whether the Grammy Award winner’s family was home at the time of the incident.
A spokesperson for the hitmaker could not be reached for comment by Page Six.
The shooting occurred around 1:20 p.m. local time, with one bullet reportedly penetrating the wall of the house.
Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Jonathan de Vera told the Los Angeles Times that “about 10 shots” were fired into the home by someone in a white Tesla across the street.
Hours later, police arrested Ortiz on suspicion of attempted murder and accused him of using a rifle to target Rihanna’s home.
Her bail was set at $10.2 million.
Ortiz shared several eyebrow-raising messages about the pop icon via social media in the weeks leading up to the incident.
Page Six then revealed the suspect’s criminal history, revealing that she had previously been arrested for domestic violence for allegedly attacking her ex-husband.
The motive for the crime has not yet been revealed.
Rihanna has yet to publicly speak out about the incident.
