Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were reportedly told they could not attend Royal Ascot because of their parents’ turbulent relationship with the late convicted criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
Beatrice and Eugenie’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, have been under intense scrutiny since former Prince Beatrice was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Consequences of scandal. Beatrice and Eugenie have been told they will not be able to attend Royal Ascot in June or take part in the Royal Parade with their families, the Daily Mail reported.
The newspaper said Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, were “blindsided” by the decision.
The Daily Mail also reported that Prince William and Duchess Kate want to keep their cousins at “arm’s length” and that the ban is part of a broader decision to exclude Beatrice and Eugenie from future public royal events.
Prince William, 43, reportedly advised other royals not to be photographed with the princesses “for the remainder of this year.”
Beatrice and Eugenie’s representatives, Buckingham Palace, did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Eugenie was seen skiing in Switzerland hours before her father was arrested.
She was spotted vacationing in the Swiss resort of Gstaad with her husband Jack Brooksbank, their two children, a nanny and close friends. Reported.
An eyewitness told the magazine: “I was surprised to see her because I thought she would have kept a low profile given what had happened.”
Meanwhile, the sisters’ mother is also reportedly currently in Switzerland as her relationship with Epstein comes under scrutiny.
Ferguson, 66, admitted himself to the Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, the Daily Mail reported, which reportedly costs more than $17,500 a night.
Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday for allegedly forwarding confidential trade documents to Epstein.
If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to life in prison.
If Ferguson returns to the UK, he could be questioned by Thames Valley police, who arrested his ex-girlfriend, a British legal source told Page Six.
Although there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing by Mr Ferguson, “police may have grounds to question Sarah Ferguson as she may be a relevant witness in this case,” the top lawyer said.
Ferguson divorced Andrew in 1996, but was stripped of her title as Duchess of York in October 2025 amid the Epstein scandal.
A source told Page Six at the time that she would “always stand by Andrew” and “always love him.”
