Hollywood stars are speaking out against the massive military attack on Iran by the United States and Israel that began Saturday morning.
Jack White, lead singer of “The White Stripes,” took to Instagram to criticize President Donald Trump’s track record in international conflicts throughout his second term, mocking the president’s tone in a statement about the strike on Saturday morning.
“Don’t you just love seeing him wear a trucker’s hat with ‘USA’ written on it and declare war on a country?” White wrote. “Look, I’m the leader of the Peace Committee. May I suggest that for Donny’s next war announcement, I put my feet up on Resolto’s desk while wearing a velvet tracksuit and eating a Big Mac? Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba, what’s the difference? Don Jr. and the Baron don’t have to fight or die, just someone else’s child…infiltrate and bomb! New registrations for the Peace Committee start at $1 billion! Can you believe that Donnie hasn’t won the real Nobel Peace Prize yet? It’s not fair! Maybe in the third term he will get it. ”
Rosie O’Donnell, a longtime critic of President Trump, also protested the strike on Instagram. She posted two quotes from Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign with the caption, “He just lies and always #impeachtrump.” The first message read, “If Kamala wins, all that awaits is death and destruction, because she is a candidate for endless war. I am a candidate for peace. I am peace.” The second message read, “I am not going to start wars, I am going to stop them.”
John Cusack wrote in X that entering into a conflict with Iran was Trump’s way of diverting attention from the Epstein file. He wrote, “Trump starts a dog war to divert attention from Epstein and do Netenyahu’s bidding. Who has been lobbying for this for over 30 years? Enough is enough?”
Carrie Coon also posted against the attack on X. He mocked President Trump’s newly established International Relations Committee, writing, “It’s the Department of War.” They weren’t joking about it. ”
Mark Ruffalo posted an article on his Instagram thread about Jared Kushner, one of President Trump’s chief negotiators with Iran, writing, “He was sent to make sure we go to war.”
The United States and Israel launched a wave of attacks across Iran on Saturday morning, following weeks of mounting threats from President Trump. The president posted a video on Truth Social on Saturday morning claiming that negotiations to curb Iran’s nuclear capabilities and avoid war have broken down, forcing countries to get involved.
