That’s shit, uh, rap.
Timothée Chalamet has revealed that his Interstellar co-star Matthew McConaughey dumped out-of-this-world trash in his trailer as a prank on the final day of filming in 2014.
Chalamet, 30, recalled being emotional and sad as he left the set when he found a “giant poop” in the bathroom.
“I felt so disrespected,” the “Marty Supreme” star told CNN in a Feb. 24 joint interview with McConaughey. “I was like, ‘I know I’m not the star of this movie, but who is?'”
The actor was so shocked by the smelly farewell that he began questioning the “big people” who were operating the equipment on set, asking if they had “left him alone” in the trailer.
When he still couldn’t find the culprit, he turned to director Christopher Nolan, who informed him that 56-year-old McConaughey had done the dirty deed.
“Matthew had a devilish grin on his face,” Chalamet said. “I said, ‘Why did you do that?’ And he said, ‘This is Texas coming of age, baby.’
Bad sarcasm aside, Chalamet expressed gratitude for his experience working on film sets, saying it was “emotional” to make his film debut alongside veteran stars at the age of 17.
“That movie for me is the starting point of how you carried yourself on set and how seriously you took your job,” he expressed to his former castmates.
“I feel like I graduated from high school. It’s hard to take myself seriously. Sometimes I feel like I’m wasting my time,” he said, adding that the film “changed[his]life.”
The four-time Oscar nominee praised his co-star’s work ethic and generosity towards him.
“I can’t thank you enough for being so warm to me at that time. There was no reason for you to be so warm to me,” he said.
