The search for Nancy Guthrie involved high-tech technology.

Arizona State Police are currently flying over the Tucson, Ariz., desert with Bluetooth signal detectors, also known as signal sniffers, to detect signals from Guthrie’s pacemaker.

The elderly woman’s pacemaker disconnected from the app on her phone just before 2 a.m. on February 1, and her Google Nest Cam also disconnected around that time.

Last week, the FBI released horrifying photos and video of a masked person approaching Nancy’s home in the early morning hours of February 1st.

They also released a suspect description of the alleged kidnapper, describing him as a man approximately 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 tall with a medium build.

The suspect had tampered with home security cameras, had a weapon strapped to his waistband and was wearing an inflated backpack.

At least four people have been detained for questioning, but no progress has been made in the case. Delivery driver Carlos Palazuelos was detained for questioning last Tuesday, but was quickly released after pleading his innocence.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confessed that the search for Nancy could take “many years” but promised not to give up.

The search is now in its third week.

“Probably an hour from now,” Nanos told The New York Times on Friday. “Maybe weeks, months, years from now. But we’re not quitting. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy.”

Savannah and her siblings released a video on Instagram tearfully pleading for their mother’s safe return and thanking the public for their prayers and well wishes.

The FBI also announced that it is increasing the reward to $100,000 for “information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie or the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her disappearance.”
