Who would you choose to spend eternity with?
That’s the question at the heart of A24’s new romantic film “Eternity,” which will be available on the Apple TV streaming service starting tomorrow, February 13, in time for Valentine’s Day.
“Eternity” is set in a world where people who have recently died enter the afterlife at a place called a “junction.” There they can decide on a certain amount of time to decide which eternity they will spend in, well, eternity. Each has a unique theme (Mountain World, Beach World, Studio 54 World, Manfree World, etc.) and all decisions are permanent.
The film tells the story of Joan (Elizabeth Olsen), who is forced to make an impossible choice when her time finally arrives. Will she spend eternity with her husband of 65 years, Larry (Miles Teller), who died shortly before her death, or will she be reunited 67 years later with her first husband, Luke (Callum Turner), who died in the Korean War shortly after their marriage and was waiting at the Junction for Joan to arrive?
