Rounding out the top 10 was Sony’s “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple,” which raked in $346,000 in its fourth weekend, pushing its total to $10.1 million.

The latest film adaptation of Emily Bronte’s novel, starring Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie, is this week’s obvious commercial anchor, joining the wide-release slot of Burt Layton’s crime thriller Crime 101, distributed by Sony and starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Barry Keoghan.

Kazoo Films released the animated film “Stitch Head” in the United States, and Vertigo Releasing competed with another major animated feature, “Looney Tunes: The Day the Earth Exploded,” directed by Peter Braungart and voiced by Eric Bauza and Candy Milo, which has been well-received by family audiences. Sony Pictures also added the family-friendly “Goat,” and Vieux Lumière is releasing “Little Amelie” on more than 100 sites.

It is also a firm favorite among fans of the genre. Black Bear will release The Whistle, a horror film directed by Corin Hardy and starring Dafne Keene and Sophie Nélice, while Netflix will release The Swedish Connection in limited theatrical screenings ahead of streaming. Director Curzon opened the Iraq-set drama “The President’s Cake,” while Baklania Media added the Bollywood film “O Romeo.”

Event cinema will also play a role this week. Trafalgar Releasing brings ballet audiences back to cinemas with “Wolf Works – ROH, London 2026,” while Piece of Magic Entertainment’s “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley” targets music fans. The week concludes with Telugu releases like ‘Funky’ and ‘Seetha Payanam’ from Dreamz Entertainment.
