Their time at CBS may be over, but Michelle Miller, Dana Jacobson and Brian Applegate still receive praise from their colleagues.
The CBS Saturday Morning anchors, with Applegate at the helm as executive producer, were honored for their contributions to journalism at a National Urban League reception.
It was hosted last week in Harlem by Mark H. Morial, the league’s CEO and Miller’s husband.
The celebration comes after the company said goodbye to CBS in November amid the network’s acquisition by Bari Weiss. (Adriana Diaz and Kelly O’Grady replaced the hosts in January).
A source at the reception told Page Six that “new leadership was not discussed” at the station, but acknowledged that “their departures have caused quiet concern in the media community.”
Former colleagues from the Tiffany network attended the final soiree, including current CBS Weekend News anchor Jerrica Duncan, CBS Morning host Vlad Dutiers, and Anthony Mason, the network’s senior cultural correspondent and senior national correspondent.
Former MSNBC News president Rashida Jones and “The View” and “Oprah” veteran Candy Carter also attended.
Miller assured the crowd, “I was an imperfect version of myself on that set, so I want to thank each and every one of you, as Dana always supported me.”
Miller and Jacobson left the reception with bouquets of yellow flowers, and Applegate was presented with a bottle of bourbon.
