Universal Pictures released a new trailer for Steven Spielberg’s mysterious alien movie Disclosure Day on Super Bowl Sunday.
This sci-fi film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
The logline reads, “If you knew we weren’t alone, if someone showed you and proved it, would you be scared? This summer, the truth belongs to 7 billion people. We are… approaching ‘Disclosure Day.'”
Spielberg developed the story with screenwriter David Koepp, with whom he has previously collaborated on the films Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Blunt plays a Kansas City television meteorologist who is suddenly attacked by a mysterious extraterrestrial force while recording a live weather segment. O’Connor stars as a believer in alien life who is determined to reveal the truth about extraterrestrial life to the world.
Disclosure Day is the 37th film directed by Spielberg since his 1964 debut. Notable sci-fi projects in his filmography include Close Encounters, E.T., Minority Report, Ready Player One, as well as the films Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.
Spielberg’s latest film, The Fablemans, was released in 2022 as a coming-of-age drama loosely based on the director’s childhood and beginnings as a director. The semi-autobiographical film was dedicated to the memory of Spielberg’s parents, Leah Adler and Arnold Spielberg, who passed away in 2017 and 2020.
“Disclosure Day” will be released on June 12th.
