Savannah Guthrie took to social media again Saturday to express an emotional appeal to those who allegedly arrested her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
“We received your message and we understand it,” the “Today” anchor said, along with his brother Camron and sister Annie.
“Please give us back our mother now so we can celebrate with her,” she added. “This is the only way we can achieve peace. This is something that is very valuable to us and we will pay the price for it.”
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen Saturday evening. She was reported missing after failing to show up for church on Sunday.
The last person to see her was Annie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, who dropped her off at his home in Tucson, Arizona.
On Monday, police said the Guthrie matriarch’s home was being treated as a crime scene. Authorities believe she was “removed from her home against her will.”
Saturday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said.
“At this time, we are not confirming or releasing additional details regarding our analysis.”
“As we have stated numerous times, it is standard practice to seek available video from nearby homes and businesses and this is part of our ongoing investigation.”
Also on Saturday, after receiving a tip from a neighbor, police seized a vehicle parked in Nancy’s garage and a camera installed on Nancy’s roof.
On Friday, a tow truck removed the vehicle, a blue Subaru SUV believed to be Nancy’s, according to FOX News. The vehicle was taken to a detention center near the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, police said.
TMZ also reported Saturday that a floodlight appeared to have been removed from her back door.
TMZ reported on Tuesday that they received a ransom note demanding millions of dollars in Bitcoin for Nancy’s return.
FBI Phoenix Special Agent Heiss Janke said in a press conference earlier this week that a ransom note was sent that day demanding “transportation” by a deadline of 5pm (Montana time).
Savannah and her brother previously addressed the incident in a social media video on Wednesday. “We definitely need to know that she’s alive and that you have her,” she said in part. “We look forward to hearing from you.”
After the first deadline passed, Kamron released a video statement imploring Nancy’s captors to send proof that she was alive.
