Ryan Lochte’s girlfriend Molly Gillihan shared a sharp post on social media after the swimmer’s estranged wife Kayla Rae Reid dissed her parenting.
On Wednesday, hours after Reade’s People interview was canceled and she said her ex-husband was not a “worthy” father for her children, Gillihan took to her Instagram Stories to slam “harsh and unkind people.”
“Don’t regret being a good person (to them),” read the upload she shared on her Stories. “Your actions say everything about you, and their words and actions say everything about them.”
The statement called on social media users to “remain kind, even in difficult times.”
The conclusion was, “Be kind, even when they don’t deserve it, because God will protect you. Be kind.”
The next slide showed a smiling selfie of Girihan and the Olympian driving together with their six children.
“Finally got the perfect car for the whole crew!” exclaimed a kindergarten teacher, calling her family the “#ModernBradyBunch.”
“We’re accepting applications for Alice,” Gillihan joked.
She and Lochte, 41, went public with their relationship in July 2025, a month after Reid filed for divorce from the athlete.
Lochte hinted at “betrayal” on Instagram, accusing his ex-partner of using drugs in front of their children, and Lochte later admitted to entering rehab.
The couple married in January 2018 and have a son, Kaiden, 8, a daughter, Liv, 6, and a daughter, Georgia, 2.
Last month, Lochte and Gillihan began living together and explained to People why this was the “right next step” in their whirlwind romance.
“Our children have formed an incredible bond, and it became clear that being together under one roof was the right next step for all of us,” Lochte said in January.
“We needed a larger home to support our blended family. We are focused on creating a loving and stable environment for all of our children,” he continued at the time.
While Lochte claimed he’d spent “the last 10 months… trying to be the best father I can be,” Reid took aim at his parenting in a subsequent interview on the show to promote his podcast “The Comeback Era” with co-host Caroline Ranney.
“I sincerely hope he is the father our children deserve,” the real estate agent quipped on Wednesday.
The former couple is “obviously not in a good place,” Reid added, and clarified that their brother is “okay.”
She said, “They have a little conflict and confusion because they wonder what’s going on.”
According to divorce filings, Reed and Lochte owe about $270,000.
