Grimes shared rare insight into the personalities of Elon Musk and his three children.
In a post on his social media platforms Thursday, Musk proudly spoke of his children — sons X.A.
“I try never to talk about or show my children, as they have the right to anonymity, but I must say that their aura of purity is unparalleled,” the mother of three wrote.
“One of them was inexplicably commanding a flock of crows for a while,” she added, without specifying which child was said to have had mystical powers.
Ms Grimes said she “might be biased” but said the child’s abilities “do not seem normal”.
One fan responded to her post and agreed with the idea of keeping her children out of the public eye.
“People should never publish their children’s faces on social media,” user X wrote. “Twitter is my entire friend group, so I sometimes talk about them and share moments, but nothing more than that. Using kids for influence is terrible.”
Ms. Grimes said she agreed. When another fan said that Grimes’ opinion was “more grime than anyone on the internet could ever say,” the songwriter said: “The funny thing is, my dad also has a loyal flock of crows.”
Another follower asked Grimes if she allowed her kids “screen time.”
“The other parent is fine, but it’s been a huge controversy because he’s been pretty much avoided,” Grimes said, referring to Musk. “If that happens, we’ll focus on great art, but ideally something slower like Ghibli where things don’t change all the time.”
Ghibli is an AI image generator and virtual art studio.
Grimes and the SpaceX founder had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2018 to 2022.
Since their split, the pair have been in a nasty custody battle, with Grimes accusing Musk of not letting her see one of their children.
Grimes last month accused the billionaire of blocking her on X, telling fans, “In context, I’m just living my life. He followed me and then blocked me.”
Grimes said her only priority was co-parenting their children and that she was “not going to follow or unfollow.”
“I’m not into dramatic events in public. This is really ridiculous lol,” she said.
Musk fathered 14 children with four women.
