Brooklyn Beckham infamously reignited rumors of a feud with his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, after he failed to attend his father’s 50th birthday party with wife Nicola Peltz in May 2025.
The chef finally broke his silence on the matter in January 2026, releasing a bombshell statement in April 2022 alleging that the rift was due to his family’s alleged hatred of Mr. Peltz even before they married.
In a statement on January 19, 2026, Brooklyn accused her parents of controlling the narrative about her family to the press “throughout her life” with “performative social media posts, family events, and false relationships.”
“The truth always comes out,” the model said, detailing how David and Victoria have allegedly tried to manipulate him over the years.

Early 2022: Brooklyn and Peltz wedding preparations
Brooklyn accused Victoria and David of “trying to break up their relationship even before the wedding” and insisted that “the relationship hasn’t stopped yet.”
“In the weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly tried to pressure and bribe me to take away the rights to my name, which would affect me, my wife, and our future children,” he claimed in a statement on Instagram.
“They were adamant that I sign before the wedding date, so the contract would start. Even though my resistance affected my payday, they have never treated me the same way since.”
Brooklyn also claimed that Victoria called her a “bad guy” because she and Peltz chose to have their grandmothers sit at their table and because “neither of them had husbands.”
“Both of our parents had their own tables, adjacent to ours as well,” he said.
She also confirmed reports that Victoria and Peltz had a feud over her wearing a Valentino wedding dress rather than one made by the fashion designer.
“My mother canceled the production of Nicola’s dress at the 11th hour, even though she was so excited to wear her design, leaving Nicola scrambling to find a new dress,” Brooklyn claimed.
In addition, several members of the Beckham family are said to have told Mr Peltz before the special day that they were “not blood related” and “we’re not family.”
April 2022: Brooklyn and Peltz’s wedding
Brooklyn and Peltz tied the knot in April 2022 in a lavish ceremony at the actress’ parents’ home in Palm Beach, Florida.
Brooklyn confirmed an earlier Page Six report that Victoria “ruined” their wedding day by stealing the spotlight at the first dance.
“My mom hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned for weeks to a romantic love song,” he wrote in an Instagram statement in January 2026.
“Marc Anthony called me on stage in front of 500 wedding guests. The schedule was for a romantic dance with my wife, but instead he waited for my mom to dance with me,” Brooklyn continued.
“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I have never felt so uncomfortable and humiliated in my life.”
According to People, Anthony called Victoria “the most beautiful woman in the room” before the dance, and a source told the outlet that Peltz ran out of the room crying.
“Nicola felt like Victoria did this on purpose when she found out it was a pre-planned romantic dance for Brooklyn and Nicola. What she didn’t understand was why,” a source previously said.
May 2025: David Beckham 50th Birthday Party
Brooklyn and Peltz made headlines again after they appeared to skip David Beckham’s 50th birthday party in May 2025.
At the time, former soccer pro Victoria shared a family photo with her three children, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.
Some photos showed Romeo and Cruise with girlfriends Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostle, respectively.
In January 2026, Brooklyn posted on Instagram that she and Peltz flew to London to spend some quality time with her famous father, but the matriarch refused.
“We were waiting in the hotel room trying to make plans to spend some quality time with him,” he claimed.
“He rejected everything we tried to do, unless it was a big birthday party with 100 guests and cameras on every corner.”
According to Brooklyn, David ultimately agreed to visit with Peltz on the condition that he not invite him.
Brooklyn also claimed that when the family later traveled to Los Angeles, he made no attempt to meet him or his wife.
May 2025: Peltz takes control of Brooklyn suspicions
Later that month, reports surfaced that Brooklyn was allegedly being “controlled” by Peltz.
At the time, Daily Mail sources referred to Brooklyn as a “hostage.”
Brooklyn refutes these claims, writing in her latest IG statement:
“I have been under the control of my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety.”
August 2025: Brooklyn and Peltz vow renewal
Brooklyn and Peltz announced they had renewed their vows in August 2025.
The director’s family also attended the intimate celebration in Florida. However, the rest of the Beckham family were noticeably missing.
In a social media statement in January 2026, Brooklyn said she and Peltz wanted to renew their vows to “create new memories on their wedding day that will bring joy and happiness, not anxiety and shame.”
“No matter how hard we try to unite, my wife has consistently been disrespected by the family,” he claimed.
Brooklyn also claimed that Victoria “invited women from[his]past into[their]lives in a manner that was clearly intended to make both parties uncomfortable.”
December 2025: Brooklyn blocks family on Instagram
Brooklyn blocked David, Victoria and their brother Cruz on Instagram in December 2025.
At the time, Cruz acknowledged the controversial move following reports that her famous parents unfollowed Brooklyn before Christmas.
“Not true. My mom and dad never unfollowed their son,” the singer wrote on Instagram in response to the report.
“Let’s get the facts straight. They woke up and were blocked…and so was I.”
Brooklyn’s latest IG statement claimed that the brothers “blocked[him]out of nowhere last summer.”
January 2026: No possibility of reconciliation
Brooklyn finally addressed the family feud in January 2026 after she felt she had “no choice but to speak up for herself and tell the truth about some of the lies about me that have been told in the media.”
He accused his parents and their team of spreading lies to the press, saying he was “standing up for (himself) for the first time in my life.”
“I don’t want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote. “Ever since I started standing up for myself with my family, I have been under constant attack from my parents, both privately and publicly, which was sent to the media at their behest.”
Brooklyn also claimed that she witnessed “the lengths” her parents would go to “spread countless lies to the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to protect their appearance.”
“For the first time in my life, since I was away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning feeling peace and relief, grateful for the life I have chosen,” he continued.
“Neither my wife nor I want a life shaped by images, press or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for ourselves and our future families.”
Why did Brooklyn finally break her silence about the family feud? “There has been a huge rift in trust,” an insider told Page Six on January 19, 2026.
“From Brooklyn and Nicola’s point of view, they’ve done everything they can to repair their relationship with David and Victoria privately. They’ve tried to talk to each other, they’ve tried to meet, but at the end of the day they just can’t trust them anymore.”
Victoria and David did not immediately respond to Page Six’s repeated requests for comment.
