Ben Affleck politely denied ever having met “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Lisa Barlow, despite previously claiming that work obligations prevented him from filming parts of this season of the Bravo show.
The “Gone Girl” star was brought up in an interview with Access Hollywood published Friday.
“It’s ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,'” said star Lisa Barlow, who was unable to film as she was attending an event with her husband. The cast doesn’t believe her. So my question is, do you know someone called Lisa Barlow? ” an interviewer asked the actor while promoting his new movie with Matt Damon, “The Rip.”
Affleck immediately reacted with embarrassment, but said, “I don’t want anyone to get in trouble.”
“I don’t know what this is. Is this an event in Salt Lake City? Something like proving someone right or wrong?” he asked.
In the episode in question, Ms. Barlow, 51, did not reveal the location of the event where she was scheduled to meet Affleck. However, the interviewer told the Star that it would probably be held in Utah.
“I haven’t been to Utah in eight, nine, maybe 10 years, I don’t know,” said Affleck, 53. “I don’t remember anything because it doesn’t look familiar to me.”
The “Air” star dodged the question by saying it was unlikely he met the Bravolebrity, but since he often runs into so many people at events, it’s possible he met her and the encounter slipped from his memory.
“I don’t want to embarrass her because I say hi to a lot of people and I don’t want to be that guy who says, ‘I’ve met you before’…I don’t remember everyone I meet,” Affleck said.
“Whatever this heated controversy is, I don’t think I’m qualified to discuss it.”
It didn’t take long for Barlow to return with receipts and evidence. She explained in the comments section of the Access Hollywood post that she allegedly met him at the SXSW Film Festival.
“It was a great movie and party,” she wrote, referring to “SXSW (for) The Accountant 2” and Affleck’s film premiere at the Austin, Texas, festival in March 2025.
She then posted a TikTok from her SXSW experience. The compilation of clips also included a video of Affleck walking the red carpet at a festival and a short snippet of Lively speaking on stage at the premiere of “Another Simple Favor.”
As Bravo fans may remember, the Vida Tequila owner said in a Season 6 episode that the reason she was unable to join castmate Angie Catsanevas on a girls’ trip was because of her feud with co-star Bronwyn Newport and work obligations involving the actor and Lively.
“I don’t want to spend the night with Bronwyn. She’s a pathological liar. She can’t tell the truth to save a life. It’s just, like, disgusting,” Barlow said in the episode. “Besides, I have work to do. Isn’t that a big deal?”
“I think what people forget is that I have a very full life, because I keep it private. And I’m going to be with Ben and Blake[Lively]who I won’t name.”
Barlow added: “I’m with Ben Affleck and you’re with Bronwyn.”
