Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey are reportedly experiencing the “first real test” of their relationship as their possible NFL retirement looms as they plan their wedding.
Sources say the 36-year-old pop star is less focused on wedding preparations and more focused on lifting Kelce’s “loser” spirit after the Kansas City Chiefs’ losing season, the Daily Mail reported.
“Taylor is trying to keep him in a good mood by not pushing her wedding plans and spending more time together,” a source said.
“She would want him to focus on[the wedding]once he makes his career decisions, because she knows how important that is to him.”
The source added that the “Fortnite” singer sees the rocky situation as their “first real test of their relationship.”
“They are together and in love and have enjoyed her tours and career and his Super Bowl and career success. Travis has never been in a position like this before and is looking to his future with complete 20/20 vision,” they said.
Kelce, 36, feels “a little defeated” amid rumors of retirement following the Chiefs’ losing 2025-26 season.
The professional tight end was previously rumored to be considering retirement after the 2024-25 season. However, he ultimately decided to give one more shot at a Super Bowl ring before officially calling it quits.
“He’s still getting used to playing and will miss being on the field. If he decides to play another year, it could bode well for the fans and the Chiefs,” a source said of Kelce’s potential career plans, adding that the NFL star “will give the Chiefs a good idea of his future plans by early March.”
“We will know whether he returns in the weeks after the Super Bowl. That is the timeline we have set for him to make a decision on whether to play another year,” they added.
Still, Kelce has a bright future ahead of him, with his soon-to-be wife by his side and career opportunities.
Last month, Page Six exclusively reported that Swift and co-host of the “New Heights” podcast were planning a post-NFL life with various projects.
“Things are changing. He is ending what he has known all his life and dealing with the possibility of retirement, marriage and a future family, with a whole new life on TV,” a source told the Daily Mail, seemingly confirming the Page Six report.
A source said Swift is coping with the difficult moment by “focusing on the positive right now.”
“But she wants him to be in a happy place because at the end of the day, that’s what makes them happy,” the source added.
Representatives for Swift and Kelsey did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
As previously reported, the couple, who announced their engagement in August, originally planned to host an intimate wedding in Rhode Island next summer.
But those plans appear to have changed. Sources exclusively tell Page Six that the couple is currently considering other venues in Tennessee to host additional ceremonies after reviewing their guest list.
The company is also considering hosting a destination wedding event on a private island.
