“Poisonous Population THE MOVIE”?
In the wake of former Disney star Ashley Tisdale’s The Cut story, “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,” Hollywood studios are cycling through the project, a Page Six investigation has learned.
Sources say there is “plenty of interest” in a film version, and that not only movie studios but also “big stars with production companies” have approached Tisdale’s team about adapting the viral essay.
A source said, “It’s something that everyone can relate to.”
The former High School Musical star, now 40, married and a mother of two, caused a sensation earlier this month when she penned a piece for New York Magazine’s fashion magazine called “Toxic” in which she revealed that she had run away from mom groups that she felt were “not cool enough.”
She said, “One night, after putting my daughter to bed, I sat alone… ostracized and completely unsure of what I had done ‘wrong.”
This movie has become a hot topic in Hollywood, and not only fans but people in LA don’t fully understand it. Hollywood watchers have connected the dots and believe the group in question includes famous members such as Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor, and Mandy Moore.
Duff’s husband, musician Matthew Koma, also stepped in to defend his wife and quietly dissed Tisdale, calling him “the most self-centered tone-deaf person on the planet.”
Meanwhile, Duff’s own famous and estranged sister Hayley appears to support Tisdale in the theory that both women are MAGA supporters.
Nevertheless, sources close to Tisdale insisted that the social media gurus were all wrong and that the celebs were not part of the group she wrote about.
When it comes to movies, it’s just a matter of timing.
A representative for Mr. Tisdale had no comment.
