Dakota Fanning stars as a secret agent for the U.S. Treasury Department in a new Apple TV series from Emmy Award-winning Homeland producer Alex Carey.
The untitled thriller portrays Fanning as a mole working behind the scenes within a multibillion-dollar international conglomerate with powerful political and criminal tentacles. According to the logline, she “becomes conflicted between her mission and the belief that her primary target, the heir to all the corrupt powers that be, is essentially a good person and worthy of love.”
The show is part of Cary’s overall deal with Sony Pictures TV, which will serve as the studio for the series. He serves as executive producer through his FLW Productions banner. Julie Gardner (Lady in the Lake, Doctor Who) will serve as executive producer for Bad Wolf America, and Fanning will executive produce (Margo’s Got Money Trouble, The Great) alongside Elle Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures. Kari Skoglund (Smoke, The Handmaid’s Tale) is the director and executive producer.
Fanning just starred opposite Sarah Snook in Peacock’s hit All Her Fault, which was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Limited Series. She also appeared in two Netflix series in 2024, “Ripley” starring Andrew Scott and “The Perfect Couple” starring Nicole Kidman. And she’s also a producer on the upcoming Apple series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” starring her sister Elle.
She is repped by UTA, TFC Management, and HJTH (Hansen, Jacobson, Teller Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Culler, Gellman, Meigs & Fox). Carey is repped by WME.
