Warner Bros. Discovery’s HBO Max and A24 have renewed their licensing agreement, which will continue to make indie studio films exclusive to HBO Max on HBO and Pay-1 TV slots in the U.S.
Under the multi-year agreement, HBO Max subscribers will be required to watch A24 movies, including “Marty Supreme” starring Timothée Chalamet and “The Moment” starring Charli XCX, when entering their streaming slot. Additionally, the deal provides access to a library of dozens of A24 movies.
WBD and A24 announced their first licensing agreement with HBO and HBO Max in December 2023, after A24’s output deal with Showtime ended. According to Warner Bros. Discovery, half of A24’s premium titles ranked in the top 10 movies on HBO Max within the first two weeks of premiering on the service in 2025. Additionally, nearly 70% of HBO Max viewers who watched an A24 movie watched more, watching an average of four titles from the studio.
“A24 has been a great partner, bringing talented creative voices and a passionate audience base to our platform,” said Royce Battleman, executive vice president of global content acquisitions at Warner Bros. Discovery. “Their bold storytelling is the perfect complement to the unique programming offered on HBO Max.”
A24 movies coming soon to HBO Max include:
“Marty Supreme” starring Timothée Chalamet, Odessa Azion, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tyler Okonma “The Moment” starring Charlie “The Death of Robin Hood” starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer “The Drama” Zendaya and Robert Pattinson “Enemies” starring Jeremy Allen White and Austin Butler “How to Make a Killing” starring Glen Powell “Primetime” starring Robert Pattinson
In addition to movies from A24, HBO Max also offers movies from Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Turner Classic Pictures, Studio Ghibli, and other partners. Titles currently available to stream on the service include “One Battle After Another,” “Sinners,” “It,” “The Conjuring” and “Final Destination.”
