Alix Earle has revealed that her mother Alyssa has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
On Sunday, January 11, Alix, 25, opened up about her mother’s health in a post shared on Instagram and TikTok, posting a video of her younger sister Ashtyn standing next to her in the hospital, doing her hair, holding her hand, and sharing ice cream and drinks.
Alix posted a clip with “F!ck Cancer” written above it, with a voiceover saying, “Strong women never give up. We may need a coffee, we may need a big cry, we may need to spend the day in bed, but we always come back stronger.”
She captioned the post, “Go mama! So proud and inspired by you 💕 There’s no challenge you can’t face and you’ll come back stronger. I love you! #Breast CancerAwareness.”
Alix confirmed that Alyssa was diagnosed midway through season 34 of Dancing with the Stars last year, responding to a social media user’s TikTok comment that she was “struggling” in the dance competition.
“I found out halfway through the season and she was still coming every week 💗,” wrote Alix, who finished the season as runner-up with dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
In a social media clip from Jan. 7, Alix mentioned that her mother was in the hospital for surgery and talked about her recent trip after flying to four countries in two days.

“I’m heading back home to Jersey to visit my mom as she’s currently in the hospital having surgery,” the influencer shared. “We may or may not talk about this in detail this week. I just want to see how everything goes and I want to be there for her first.”
“I cried a few times during the trip,” she continued. “But her boyfriend and my sister are with her this morning.”
“So we’re going to take care of her so tomorrow morning we’re going to pick her up at the hospital,” Alix told her followers.

The internet personality previously revealed on TikTok on Dec. 28 that she and her sister Ashtyn spent the day after Christmas with their mother to meet with doctors at the hospital, revealing that she was “not feeling well right now.”
“That day was honestly a little tough for me,” Alix said in a December update. “That’s something I learned while on Dancing with the Stars, so that was just one of the issues I was dealing with.”

Alix previously admitted on TikTok after finishing filming the reality show that there were “a lot” of things that happened in her life that she didn’t share on TV.
Alix, who announced the end of the DWTS season in a video at the end of November, admitted that the 11-week experience was “emotional” for her, telling her followers, “There were a lot of times throughout the season where I sat with myself and sat with these thoughts and started to realize these things and what I wanted in life. And I think when those thoughts came up, it was scary.”

“There were a lot of things in my personal life throughout the season that I was glad I didn’t put out for TV. I thought about that sometimes,” she continued. “But I didn’t want to make a really interesting package and make a statement just to get that story out to other people. So I’m proud of that.”
