Nancy Meyers pays tribute to the late Diane Keaton.

Keaton, who died on October 11 at the age of 79, days after contracting a bacterial pneumonia infection, starred in Meyers’ 2003 film Something’s Gotta Give. On Friday, October 24th, director Keaton shared sweet behind-the-scenes moments from filming the movie over 20 years ago.

In a photo shared to Instagram, Jack Nicholson is seen lying in bed as Keaton kisses him on the cheek as he wears rollers in his hair. The filming staff also had smiles on their faces as they took pictures. “One of my favorite still images,” Myers, 75, began her Instagram caption.

“A mouth-to-mouth rehearsal. This photo has been on my office table for over 20 years and still brings a smile to my face,” Meyers wrote.

Meyers and Keaton are frequent co-stars, having worked together on the Father of the Bride series (1991 and 1995), Baby Boom (1987), and Something’s Gotta Give (2003).

The director previously paid tribute to the late Oscar winner in an Instagram post on October 13, two days after his death.

“The last 48 hours have not been easy,” Meyers began her caption. “It has been comforting to see everyone’s condolences for Diane. As a movie lover, I am with you all. We have lost a giant, an incredible actress who put herself on the line again and again to tell our stories.”

Myers said of Keaton that they had been “friends for almost 40 years” and that at times they “felt like sisters because we shared so many really memorable experiences.”

“As a filmmaker, I have lost a connection to an actress I can only dream of,” she wrote. “We all look for someone who really understands us, right? With Diane, I think we had that in each other.”

In addition to collaborating with Meyers, Keaton starred in The Godfather trilogy, Annie Hall, The First Wives Club, and other iconic films, among others. She won an Oscar for Best Actress in 1977 for her role in Annie Hall.

Keaton leaves behind two children, daughter Dexter (29) and son Duke (25).
