ITV Studios adds ‘Solitary’ to catalog, premieres ‘Una Fiesta de Muerte’ in Spain

ITV Studios has acquired the rights to Solitary, the controversial reality game show created by Lincoln Hyatt and Andrew Golder that hit number one on the Fox Reality Channel.

In “Solitary,” contestants are trapped in isolation pods with no sense of day or night, no human contact, or alliances. Guided only by Val, an ever-present computer entity, they face unrelenting physical and mental challenges until the last man standing wins the prize. The only rule is don’t quit first.

This format has previously been introduced in Germany (ProSieben) and Brazil (SBT).

“‘Loneliness’ is a bold format that still feels incredibly fresh,” he said. Mike Beale, Managing Director, Creative Networks, ITV Studios. “That strong competition allows us to accommodate both linear and streaming services.”

Meanwhile, the murder-mystery format “A Party To Die For” heads to Spain for the first time under the local title “Una Fiesta de Muerte.” The show is produced by ITV Studios Iberia for Atresmedia and is the third local adaptation following its success in France and the Netherlands. A Spanish version is scheduled to debut next year.

In ‘A Party To Die For’ from ITV Studios Netherlands and Talpa Studios, celebrities are invited to a glamorous party, but one of them is discovered to have been ‘murdered’ before the event begins. The remaining guests must use their detective skills to solve the mystery. Viewers can also perform along at home using a dedicated app.

Produced in the UK and produced by ITV Studios’ Multistory Media, ‘Come Dine With Me’ marks its 50th territory with the launch of ‘Come Dine With Me Africa’, currently airing on Canal+Magic and produced by Media One Group’s 909 Productions.

The format is now celebrating its 20th anniversary and has spawned new adaptations, including Come Dine With Me Teens, produced by Multistory Media for Channel 4 in the UK.

Popular British quiz format ‘The Chase’ heads to New Zealand, marking its 22nd territory. The local version will be produced by ITV Studios Australia and will premiere on November 3 on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+.

‘The Chase’ is created and produced by Potato for ITV Studios.

In Brazil, Globoplay has recommissioned a second season of romance format My Mum Your Dad. The show, created by Formata, follows single parents on their journey to find love while secretly involving their adult children.

The original US format was produced by ITV America’s ITV Entertainment in association with Rombola Entertainment for HBO Max with executive producers Greg Daniels and Haley Daniels.

In India, Discovery Communications has commissioned “FBoy Island” to be called “FBoy Survival” on both Discovery Channel and D+ platforms. Produced by Fox6 Media, the series launches in February. The Indian version combines adventure survival and real-life dating genres.

Produced by STX Entertainment and The Year of Elan for HBO Max in the US, FBoy Island has a strong international footprint with local production in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Sweden. This format also inspired the US CW spin-off ‘FGirl Island’.

Discovery India has also ordered a second season of ‘Reality Queens of the Jungle’. Locally known as ‘Jungle Reality Ranis’ and produced by Endemol India, the series has been a local success on both Discovery Channel and D+. Created by WBITVP Netherlands, the format has been produced in eight territories, including Poland and Germany, and has been running for six seasons in the Netherlands as RTL5/Videoland. A new addition to this year’s series, Reality Kings on Safari, is available at Mipcom.

“FBoy Island” has also been commissioned in Germany, with the nine-part series produced by WBITVP Germany set to debut on Amazon Prime Video later this month.

In addition, ZDF’s Cash or Trash has also been licensed in Croatia and Serbia, with Croatian national broadcaster Nova TV producing a 20-episode serial and a 60-episode series, respectively, marking the 12th and 13th local editions. In this format, a panel of professional dealers compete against each other to purchase antiques, heirlooms, memorabilia, and other items brought in by members of the public.

The original German version aired over 1,000 episodes, and over 8,000 were produced worldwide.

The format is known as ‘The Bidding Room’ in the UK and its seventh series was recently broadcast on BBC One. He also played in France 2 for eight seasons via WBITVP France.

Another WBITVP format, “Inside Therapy,” was commissioned by France Télévision. The broadcaster has ordered a five-part series known as “Rendez-vous Chez le Psy.” Produced by WBITVP France, the series will be accompanied by an extensive social and digital campaign, including podcast episodes and a Q&A in which therapists answer questions from the public. The format was created by WBITVP group company Twenty Twenty for BBC One/BBC iPlayer and released internationally at a London screening in 2025.
