‘Midsomer Murders’ continues to be thrilling
The hit British detective series Midsomer Murders enters its 26th series, commissioned by ITV and distribution company All3Media Intl.
Set in one of England’s most dangerous yet picturesque villages, the four-episode production of the popular primetime series, which has been a huge hit across the globe and has been a ratings hit worldwide, has a total of 148 episodes and confirms the popularity of hard-working Chief Inspector Barnaby (Neil Dudgeon).
Produced by Bentley Productions, executive produced by Michelle Bach, and commissioned by ITV Drama Commissioner Hugh Kennea-Jones and All3Media International, Series 26 transports viewers to the stunning and dangerous English countryside with four new full-length mysteries. Dudgeon co-stars with Nick Hendricks as his trusty sidekick Detective Winter, while Annette Badland returns as pathologist Dr Fleur Perkins and Fiona Dolman reprises her role as Barnaby’s wife Sarah.
“Midsomer Murders” continues to be a solid hit in many territories, including Germany, Scandinavia, the Baltics, and is still active in nearly 200 territories, from France to Australia to the United States.
All 3 Media International Strike agreement in Kazakhstan
Freedom Media, Kazakhstan’s leading streaming platform, has acquired 110 hours of premium scripted content from British distribution company All3Media Intl.
Freedom Media has acquired multiple seasons of high-profile shows including the mystery drama “Black Snow,” starring Travis Fimmel, produced by Australia’s Goalpost Pictures. Two Brothers Pictures’ productions include The Tourist, starring Jamie Dornan, and The Forge’s four-part political thriller Roadkill, starring Hugh Laurie as a charismatic politician whose life is about to fall apart.

Freedom Media’s acquisitions also include “The English,” starring Emily Blunt and Chaske Spencer. “Angela Black” is a psychological thriller starring Joan Froggatt. A dark comic thriller “Boat Story”. And “Captivated,” co-starring Carla Tointon and Allen Leitch, is about a young mother who becomes entangled with a shady businessman.
The package also includes Snowed-In Productions’ three-part drama Too Close starring Emily Watson and Dennis Goff. The Gold, a heist series from Objective Fiction and Tannadice Pictures starring Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, Tom Cullen and Eman Elliott.
More serious crime series include Hella Pictures’ I Fought the Law, starring Sheridan Smith as a mother who changes the law and fights for justice after her daughter’s murder. South Pacific Pictures’ Far North depicts an international crime that lands on the shores of a small New Zealand community. New Pictures’ crime drama “The Long Shadow.” And snow-covered products. The historical drama “Mrs. Wilson” stars Ruth Wilson as a widowed biological grandmother who uncovers a mysterious and secret life after her husband’s death.
Minika hugs Spanish toons
Spanish animation studio Anima Kitchento has renewed its long-standing partnership with Turkey’s leading children’s channel Minika on the popular toddler series “Cleo and Cukin.”
The agreement, which has been extended for an additional four years, confirms the show’s continued success in Turkey, with Minika originally licensed seasons 1 and 2 of “Cleo and Kukin” in 2021.

As part of the new deal, Minica will retain the rights to the first two seasons and will also get 30 episodes of the spin-off series Cuquín: Discover & Explore. Initially released as digital-first content, new episodes will premiere on Turkish television and VOD platforms, significantly expanding the brand’s presence in the region.
“This expanded partnership not only highlights the strong connection the show has built with Turkish viewers, but also marks the beginning of a new chapter as we bring Kukin: Discover & Explore to TV and VOD for the first time,” said Miguel Aldasolo, international sales and co-production director at Anima Kitchen.
Elsin Koyuncu, Content Editor-in-Chief at Minika, added that Minika is “dedicated to curating content that truly connects with our viewers, and ‘Cleo and Kukin’ is a shining example of that vision.”
New game show “The Auction” comes to Italy
The new game show “The Auction” from Dori Media and Abbott Hameiri will premiere on American TV in Peru early this summer and then make its way to Italy.
Italy’s Blu Yazmine has acquired the rights to “The Auction” and is currently developing an Italian version of the format.
Dori Media and Abbot Hameiri, in collaboration with America Television, produced the first season of “The Auction” (locally known as “La Subasta”), which became the number one program on American television’s prime time slot in Peru throughout the summer and fall.
“The Auction” is a game show where two families compete for a mysterious box using strange AI-generated clues. Each team uses an equal budget to compete for the most valuable real-world prizes. Meanwhile, viewers at home can also participate and guess the identity of the hidden prize in real time, turning the entire show into an interactive social guessing game.
In addition, Dori Media has licensed the unscripted version of Intuition to Portugal’s TVI, which will make its European debut in December. TVI has ordered 20 episodes of the game show produced by Dori Media and Oded Menashe, creator of the hit series “Smart Face.”
Dori Media has also signed a deal with leading Argentine production company Kuarzo Entertainment Group and StoryLab to expand its scripted programming catalog globally. Dori Media has already begun representing both Kuarzo and StoryLab as they head to Mipcom.

Selected talented chefs are taken from each location to compete on a supermarket sound stage, where they must create familiar and delicious dishes at affordable prices.
