Beta Cinema has announced a new wave of international distribution deals for director Fatih Akin’s “Amram,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, ahead of its German theatrical release by Warner Bros. on Thursday.
The drama was purchased in Australia and New Zealand (Palace Films), India (Big Tree Entertainment), Latin America (Synapse Distribution), Portugal (Pris Audiovisuais), Scandinavia (Angel Films), Italy (BIM Distribuzione), Greece (Rosebud.21), Turkey (Filmarti) and Ukraine (Svoekino).
Deals in a number of countries were revealed earlier this year, including North America (Kino Lorber), France (Dulac Distribution), Spain (A Contracorriente), Japan (Bitter’s End) and Benelux (Cherry Pickers).

Directed by Akin for his friend and mentor Herk Bohm, Amrum is a moving and visually arresting drama about 12-year-old Nanning as she uncovers family secrets on the remote island of Amrum during the final weeks of World War II.
