Dolly Parton’s sister reassured fans after she warned them with a social media prayer request for the health of the 79-year-old singer.
Freida Parton took her to Facebook late Tuesday night and “cleared something” about her original post earlier that same day.
“When I asked for a prayer for Dolly, I didn’t intend to scare anyone or make it sound that seriously,” she wrote. “She was in the weather a little.”
Freida, 68, explained: “I simply asked for prayer because I have a strong belief in the power of prayer. It was my sister who asked for prayer for her.
“Thank you for lifting her up,” she concluded. “Your love really makes a difference.”
A few hours ago, Dolly’s young brother wrote that he “prays all night (on Monday)” for the Grammy Award winner.
“Many of you know she hasn’t felt her best lately,” Freida wrote at the time. “I truly believe in the power of prayer and it leads to asking all of the world in which she is a prayer warrior and loves her as she prays with me.”
She added:
Social media users commented that the update was “stressing,” and many people have sent Dolly Well Wishes.
In particular, Dolly made the headline last month after postponing her Las Vegas residency for nearly a year.
“I’ve dealt with some health challenges, and my doctor says there are a few steps to do,” she explained in a lengthy September statement.
The performer said, “When I joked with them, it must be my 100,000-mile medical check-up time.
Dolly made it clear that he had no intention of “quittin the business” as God had said nothing about stopping yet.
That same month, the songwriter cancelled the appearance of Driwood due to complications of kidney stones.
Dolly lost her husband Carl Dean in July and later pressed pause on her music project.
The former couple had been married since 1966.
