Channing Tatum says “absolutely not” to Jax Taylor’s repeated claims that they were once roommates.
The “Magic Mike” star, 45, shut down Taylor’s claims during an appearance on Sirius’ “Andy Cohen Live” on Monday. Host Andy Cohen asked Tatum if he was the roommate of someone called “Jax” on “Vanderpump Rules,” Coach Jason.
Jax Taylor’s real name is Jason Cauchi.
Tatum said bluntly, “Absolutely not,” then laughed.
Cohen shared that Taylor claimed they were roommates when they were both young models, and Tatum said she had to see his photos. The “Blink Twice” actor explained that he lived in a “model home.” There, she lives with other models and gets only a bed.
After Cohen showed him a photo of Taylor, Tatum said he still didn’t recognize him.
“All models look the same. He’s a good-looking guy,” Tatum said.
“I don’t think I roomed with him, but maybe, I think,” he added.
A representative for Taylor did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Taylor claimed that he and Tatum once lived together during an appearance on “What What Happens Live” in 2013.
“Yeah, he was my first roommate in New York when I first started modeling,” he said.
Taylor reiterated the claims in a May 2023 interview with Rolling Stone, describing the same living situation called a model home.
“It was around 2002 and these institutions had model apartments coming into town,” Taylor, 46, explained to the magazine. “Basically, I like dorm rooms with bunk beds. A small room with bunk beds and a bathroom. Channing was one of six guys in our room.”
The reality star said the “Step Up” star stayed on long after he landed the Mountain Dew commercial and his career took off.
Tatum’s “She’s The Man” co-star, Amanda Bynes, also once mentioned his memorable Mountain Dew Commercial (flipping a car while drinking soda) in a 2018 interview with Paper Magazine.
“I totally fought for Channing[to cast]that movie because he wasn’t famous yet,” Bynes told the outlet. “He just did a commercial for Mountain Dew and I was like, ‘This guy is a star. All the girls are going to love him!’
