Toni Colette thrives in her role as a mom to her two children.
Wayward Star shared her child with her ex-husband Dave Galafassi, who had been married for almost 20 years. The former couple tied the knot in 2003 and continued to welcome their daughter Sage (17) in 2007 and son Arlo (14) in 2011.
Over the years, Colette has been interacting with successful careers while still a hands-on mom, choosing to bring in Sage and Arlo whenever she works on sets around the world. Once, Colette, who told people that being a mother made her a “better person,” took her family from her hometown to Italy.
Colette says that there’s something for the future for her children raised outside the spotlight, and she wants them to know that life is to follow your passion.
“I want them to know there are actually no rules, they want them to listen to themselves and know that society should not be bullied and made decisions,” she told Romper in 2023. ”
Here’s everything you need to know about Tonicolette’s two children, Sage and Arlo.

Colette and Galafasi welcomed their daughter, Sage Florence Galafasi, on January 9, 2008.
Looking back at her daughter’s name, Colette explained that she knows it’s a suitable little girl.
“I named my daughter Sage because she already felt like she was teaching me in her womb. She continues to do that,” Colette shared with people.
A few weeks after her motherhood, Colette was opened up about being a new mom, but admitted that it was not something she could describe in words, and instead was “one of the experiences you have to go through to understand.” She added that she “hate to alleviate it by trying to lock it in words” because she couldn’t really clarify the experience.
Since then, Colette has chosen to raise her daughter outside the spotlight, but has shared a small snippet of life on social media, including a 2023 trip to Disneyland.
In 2024, Sage joined his mother in search of an unusual red carpet appearance at the premiere of Colette’s film Ju Yeek #2.
“The premiere of #Juror2Movie was very special last night. The biggest part about it was sharing it all with my beloved daughter Sage,” Colette shared on Instagram along with the pair’s selfies.

In 2010, Colette and Galafasi broke the news to people who said they were “very happy with hopes” with their second child together. On April 22, 2011, her son, Arlo Robert Galafassi, was born in Australia.
“Toni Colette, husband David Galafasi and daughter Sage Galafasi are excited and proud to announce the arrival of boy Arlo Robert Galafasi,” their representative shared in a statement, adding that the couple “he was born on Good Friday.”
Like his sister, Arlo also grew up outside the spotlight, but the brothers are never far from their mother, even when she is on set. Colette said he would take his kids with him whenever he travels for work, but their home base is usually in Australia.
“I live in so many different places and we as a family, we can set up houses wherever I work… Of course, we try to make things shoot during school holidays, but sometimes life doesn’t really work, so that’s a foot in front of the other feet.”
She continued. “We are fortunate enough, our kids are in progressive schools that understand that… I hope that we have a lot of cultural experiences where my kids are doing different things in different countries. It’s a great gift for all of us.”
Colette’s children seem to be huge fans of her decision to raise them all around the world. While she was filming the Mafia Mamma, Colette said that while her family lived in Italy, Arlo told her that she had made some of his favorite memories.
“The other day I was talking to my son and son. That day, our bunch hired a boat and headed out to Ponza, the island. He said, ‘Mama, that was literally the best day of my life,'” she told Romper. “But in fact, we all felt that way! It wasn’t just him. There was something really elevated about the time we all shared. I mean, it was magic.”
