Chip and Joan Nagaines’ Magnolia Network ordered viewers a sweet new treat this holiday season.
Hosted by Oliver Hudson and produced by Gaines, executive Gingerbreadland features top bakeries to compete in the “largest gingerbread competition ever imagined.” The show consists of four challenges that test your team to build an edible world with light, motion and storybook level details in every miniature.
According to the Magnolia Network’s account, “In the new series, competitors compete in playful rounds where they transform flour, sugar and candy into complex works of art and test their design, structure and creativity. Each week, new challenges bring twists and surprises.
The judges for “Gingerbread Land” include acclaimed pastry chef Gale Gand and architect Professor Michael Ford. Guest judges will also be taking part in weekly weekly, including celebrity stylist Brad Goleski, chef Christina Tosi, actress Darcy Carden and Joanna Gaines herself for the finale.
“Gingerbreadland: The Biggest Little Holiday Competition” will debut on November 17th at 9pm ET on the Magnolia Network (a joint venture between Gaines and Warner Bros Discovery) and the Sister Cable Channel Food Network. New episodes will be streamed on HBO Max and Discovery+ the next day.
“We wanted to make a show that made you smile and put you in the holiday spirit the moment you turn it on,” Joanna Gaines said. “‘Gingerbreadland’ is all about joy, fun and amazing. This is your chance to get together, cheer on your favorite pieces and be inspired by the beauty and playfulness of the season. ”
“From the first pitch, I knew that ‘Gingerbread Land’ would capture the magic of the holiday in a way that feels both whim and high energy,” said Allison Page, president of Magnolia Network. “It’s a celebration, it’s fun, and it’s kind of show that families want to see together every year.”
“Gingerbreadland: The Biggest Little Holiday Competition” is produced by Land Entertainment.
