VET Shannon Buck, a PR and communications group, is participating in Paramount. Paramount will directly serve as Exec VP, Director of Communications and PR PR directly to consumers. For the new gig, officially starting Monday, her surveillance includes global communication and promotional strategies.
Buck joined from NBCuniversal and most recently was executive VP of Intergrating Communications. Paramount Hire reunited with former Netflix colleague Cindy Holland, who took over as streaming manager for the recently merged Paramount Skydance Company.
At Paramount, Buck will work closely with the Netherlands and Communications Director Melissa Zukerman to work together on all communications and promotions aimed at consumers.
“Shannon is a veteran strategic communications executive who leads content promotion and communication across the platform, specializing in consumer audience engagement and brand building,” he said in a note to staff.
Buck is the latest Netflix exec to join Paramount Skydance, with Holland employing Jane Wiseman as the original head Exec VP.
Buck spent nearly three years at NBCU, first participating as executive vice president of Peacock’s promotion, overseeing the promotion, events and activation of Peacock’s original and exclusive content, and later focused on B2B marketing at Universal Studio Group, Awards Strategy and Marketinces Duties as NBCU rebuilded the team.
For over six years on Netflix, he served as vice president of the series’ promotion, with Buck leading the team in script, script and stand-up content in programs such as Bridgeton, Stranger Things, Queen’s Gambit, Crown, Emily of Paris, Love is Blinds, and Blinds. She first joined Netflix as a director of promotions, and in 2016 she handled campaigns for series such as “Black Mirror,” “Mind Hunter,” “Master of No,” and “Big Mouth.”
Prior to Netflix, Buck was Starz’s Senior Vice President of Programming and Promotion, working beyond awards, events, talent relations and promotional strategies. She also serves as Vice President of Ferencomm and works with clients such as Bravo, Food Network, AMC, WetV, DIY Network, Sundance Channel, Starz, and History Channel.
