Taylor Swift officially released the “The Fate of Ophelia” music video online on Sunday, two days after fans saw it in the cinema for the “official release party for the showgirl.”
As expected, this footage included numerous references for Eagle Eyed Swifies to pick up.
Before the footage reached YouTube, the theory spread on social media about the appearance of sourdough bread, Swift’s fiancée, Travis Kelce and other secret photos.
This song is, in particular, the lead single and opening track of the “Life of a Showgirl” album.

Behind the Scenes Scoop
The “Fate of Ophelia” music video features Sourdough Bread, burnt in by Swift, and was confirmed at “Showgirl’s Official Release Party.”
During the surprise appearance of bread, it was placed on the table along with peaches and a series of pearls.
She gushed out “My bread is a star,” so she called out to viewers that filming the music video was a “really important day” for her.

The Grammy Award winner recently talked about her love of baking sourdough and giving it to a friend during her debut on the “New Heights” podcast, and making bread puns for her most famous songs.
While promoting “The Life of a Showgirl,” the pop star is talented BBC Radio 1 host Greg James A Lemon-Blueberry Loaf.
All Travis Kelce References
Swift paid tribute to the NFL play partners for the “The Fate of Ophelia” video.
She started by catching football and singing, “Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your atmosphere.”
The “Love Story” singer also had Kelse jersey number 87 in the hotel room door.
At another music video moment, Swift and some of her ERAS tour dancers were ready in the dressing room.
ERAS Tour Callback
Swift has incorporated Eras Tour Dancers, including Raphael Thomas, Kevin Scheitzback and others into the “The Fate of Ophelia” music video.
Swift ended the video in the bathtub. This is an obvious reference to the ex-lovers of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” character Ophelia, and is tragically owned.
However, the moment also seemed to be tied to the post-singer concert ritual.
Swift previously confirmed that the “The Life of a Showgirl” cover art was a reference to the famous “Ophelia” painting of 1851-52 by British artist John Everett Millais, and that more references are found in the music video.
Additionally, the Swift video began with the theatre being cleaned in a few hours. And I saw the cleaning cart next to me.
The songwriter has specifically confirmed that he sneaked into the concert, hiding behind the cart cleaning.
Lyric lookback
Swift even referenced several other “Life of a Showgirl” songs in the “Fate of Ophelia” music video, even flapping the film set and black and white film posters.
The prop says, “The sequins are forever, starring Kitty.”
The line “Sequins are forever” came straight from the album’s title track.
Similarly, Swift sang “Elizabeth Taylor.” “All my white diamonds and lovers are forever.”
Elsewhere in the music video, Swift referenced the lyrics to “Wi$h li$t”, but the bathtub has an Oscar on the floor.
The song’s lyrics include “They want that complicated female character / They want that critical Smash Palme de Orle / and Oscar on the bathroom floor.”
And in “Actual Romantic,” a Diss track about the Charli XCX, Swift compared the “Speed Drive” singer 33 to “the toy Chihuahuas barking me from a small wallet.”
In particular, the “Fate of Ophelia” music video included a small dog in a neighbor’s bag.
Sabrina Carpenter’s Clues
Sabrina Carpenter collaborated with Swift on the title track for “The Life of a Showgirl.”
One scene from the “The Fate of Ophelia” music video looked like a recreation of this year’s Carpenter’s Grammy Awards performance.
Carpenter’s memorable performance included showgirl-style Dolce and Gabbana outfits, setting the Easter Egg stage early.
