Ike Turner Jr., son of Tina Turner and Ike Turner, has passed away, page 6 confirmed. He was 67 years old.
Tina’s nie, Jacqueline Brock confirmed the news in a statement.
“It is extremely saddened to announce the passing of my cousin, Ike Turner, Jr.,” the statement reads. “Junior” was not a cousin to me, he was more of a brother. We grew up together in the same famous family. ”
“As the son of Tina and Ike Turner from an early age, his talent was obvious as there were no instruments he didn’t want to play. While he liked drums early on, my aunt and his mother, Tina Turner, claimed he had broken the drum kit. Added.
“He faced the same challenges that many of us have, but he became the sound engineer, musician and Grammy winner of the best traditional blues albums for his father’s “Lysin” blues” in 2007. ”
Bullock concluded a statement saying that his family appreciated “pai dol’s opinion” and demanded privacy at this time.
Ike Jr. died of kidney failure, TMZ reported. He had been battling serious mental issues for years and his health had been declining, Brock told the outlet.
Tina recruited Ike Jr. and her son Michael at an early age due to her previous relationship with Ike Sr. and Lorraine Taylor. Ike Jr. became a successful musician himself and worked professionally with his parents. He worked as a sound engineer for Tina after his split from the Kings of Rhythm Frontman.
“Tina raised me from the age of two,” Ike Jr. told the Daily Mail in 2018.
His relationship with the “Popular Mary” diva was complicated and they were estranged before his death in May 2023 of natural causes.
“My mother lives her life. She has a new husband and is in Europe,” he told the outlet. “She doesn’t want to have anything to do with her past.”
Ike Jr. was arrested in June 2023 for possession of cracked cocaine and tampering with evidence.
When Tina passed away, the musicians were used to the law, so the musicians were behind the bar. She was 83 years old.
Ike Sr. died of an overdose in December 2007 after a decades-long battle with cocaine addiction. He was 76 years old.
