White House officials responded to the first cold opening of “Saturday Night Live” season 51. This has targeted Donald Trump and FCC chairman Brendanker for a recent late-night television clampdown.
“Responding to this means I have to waste time watching it,” White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson wrote in an email to Entertainment Weekly. “And like the millions of Americans who adjusted from “SNL,” I have something to do.
At the first cold open of season 51, James Austin Johnson’s Trump interrupted the impression of Colin Jost’s Pete Hegses, confirming that “SNL” “doesn’t do anything about me.”
Johnson’s Trump quickly spoke about the prolific late-night sketch show. Referring to cast rework this summer, he said, “We’ve got the “update” guy who roughly started ‘SNL’ 51 and has opened 17 new cast members. ”
They then warned that if “SNL” got out of control, they must face the rage of “My attacking dog, Brandon Kerr, of the FCC.” Car Day has revised Johnson’s Trump to the pronunciation of his name, where Car Day dances to the frame to Rockwell’s “Someone’s Watching Me.”
“It’s actually Brendan, Sir,” Fenny Kerr said. Johnson’s Trump replied, “It’s weird to think you care. Goodbye!”
Ending with a warning, Trump said, “Remember: Daddy is watching.”
Since joining the cast in 2021, Johnson has been a spoof of Trump on Saturday Night Live.
